Adam was born and raised in Sunderland, England, and moved to London in 2005 to begin a degree in Makeup and Prosthetics for Performance at the prestigious London College of Fashion.  Adam’s eye for beauty, his versatility and dedication soon helped lay the foundations for a strong career in the beauty industry.

Adam spent over a decade in London honing his craft, contributing to publications such as Wonderland, i-D and Hunger while partnering with top brands like ASOS, Topshop, and Versace. Burrell gained notoriety working with some of the UK’s biggest music artists including Charli XCX, Ella Henderson, One Direction and Little Mix, traveling throughout the Europe, Asia, Australia and the US. 

In 2016, Adam was requested by superstar and EGOT, Jennifer Hudson, as she made her coaching debut on The Voice UK and the bond was sealed. Adam joined Jennifer stateside as she joined the panel on The Voice US.  Working with Hudson on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Burrell was nominated for a 2023 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup, his second nomination to date.

Since making LA his permanent home in 2017,  Adam has worked with some of the most evocative and beautiful woman of our time including Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Adele, Winnie Harlow, Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, establishing himself as one of the most sought after makeup artists in Hollywood.
