Shelby may be best known for her hair sculptures on Hollywood’s biggest names, but behind the hair chair, she is truly a star. Literally performing alchemy at a lighting pace – knowing every strand and its strengths and what it will take. Swain’s work has been crucial to shifting the narrative around Black hair, unapologetically redefining the beauty ideal in culturally memorable moments for her clients Zendaya, Lizzo, Pink Pantheress, Baby Tate and Celeste O’Connor,   Swain is literally the birthplace and originator of this movement which shows no signs of ever slowing down.
