Julian Stoller is obsessed with women who are almost distastefully glamorous. This obsession comes through in his work where glamour is married with elements of stage makeup, the circus and sculptures to push it just over the edge of propriety. Feeling frustrated with the practical constraints of traditional makeup, Stoller has also been working with prosthetics, creating jutting jaw bones and bursting faces. While it’s a practice that requires an entirely different skill set – one of technicality and precision – the goal of manipulating the face and body to your will remains the same. Stoller loves seeing the shift in his subjects through makeup – gaining power through his mastery of augmentation and accentuation. At just 23 years old, Julian has fully embarked on his journey already garnishing clients such as Julia Fox, Eartheater, Sky Ferreira, Richie Shazam, Isamaya Ffrench and Bjork, with his looks gracing the covers and pages of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Purple, Rollacoaster and more.
