John Novotny

Born in Northern, CA, John moved to New York to study photography at 18.  Finding community through non-comformity, John began creating incredible wigs and hair pieces for their portrait subjects and those around them. A fascination with the in-betweens of glamour and artifice lead to crafting a unique perspective in the hair world. 

John’s process champions their commitment to self expression, creating bespoke hair looks through collaboration with clients.

A wig artisan and color specialist extraordinaire, John’s client and collaborations include downtown favorites Julia Fox & Richie Shazam, Rowan Blanchard, Aaron Rose Philip, musicians Kehlani, Sky Ferreira, Charli XCX, Pink Pantheress, Kali Uchis, Bebe Rexha, and directors Chloe Sevigny and Aidan Zamiri. John is a go-to stylist for brands Marshall Columbia, Bose, Muji, Puma, H&M, Gryphyn and Willie Norris Workshop. John’s work is featured in Interview, NY Mag, Paper, Office, VOGUE and Cosmopolitan.
